Non-Discrimination and Non-Harassment Policy

It is the policy of Elmhurst University (the University) to afford equal opportunity and not discriminate, harass, or retaliate against students, employees, and applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, disability, national origin, citizenship status, work authorization status, ancestry, age, order of protection status, genetic information, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, transgender status, arrest record status, political affiliation, military status, veteran’s status, or other protected statuses under applicable federal, state and local law.

The University acts in compliance with the requirements of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (“Title IX”). Title IX is a federal law that prohibits sex discrimination in federally funded education programs and activities. Title IX states: “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial aid.”

Any inquiries regarding Title IX should be directed to the University’s Title IX Coordinator, who is trained in trauma-informed responses to sex discrimination and is responsible for implementing and monitoring Title IX compliance on behalf of the University. The Title IX Coordinator may be contacted at titleix@elmhurst.edu.  To access the University's Non-Discrimination and Non-Harassment Policy, please visit the Title IX webpage of the University’s website at elmhurst.edu/titleix.
